When to move up to Dedicated or High Availability
A VPS gives you isolated virtual resources: your own CPU allocation, RAM and storage. A dedicated server gives you the whole physical machine.
Dedicated suits very high traffic, large catalogues, B2B complexity or a mission-critical checkout. We recommend it above about 5,000 orders a month, for high concurrent traffic or for running several Magento instances.
A VPS stops being enough when PHP-FPM is saturated at peak with the cache already working, or when the database and search index no longer fit comfortably in RAM alongside PHP.
Dedicated servers start at £249/mo: Dedicated DS1 £249, Dedicated DS2 £399, Dedicated DS3 £549. High Availability starts at £799/mo: HA Starter £799, HA Pro £1,299. All prices ex VAT.

The Magento stack on every VPS
The default stack on every VPS is nginx, Varnish full-page cache, Redis or Valkey, OpenSearch and PHP-FPM on NVMe storage, with no control panel. It is built to your setup after you order.

Adobe publishes these support dates for Adobe Commerce. For 2.4.7, Adobe Commerce customers get extended support to 31 May 2028. Standard support for 2.4.6 ended on 11 August 2026.
PHP 8.1 reached end of life on 31 December 2025, and PHP 8.2 reaches end of life on 31 December 2026. MySQL 8.0 reached end of support on 30 April 2026, and Adobe says 2.4.4 to 2.4.7 will not be validated on later MySQL versions.

Security: Sentinel Plus and DDoS mitigation
Sentinel is our Magento-tuned web application firewall and security monitoring. It spots repeated admin password guessing and unusual admin sign-ins, card-skimmer changes to checkout and payment files, malware and unexpected file changes, and scrapers, fake searches and traffic floods, which it slows with rate limiting. It also compares your installed Magento version with Adobe's security bulletins, so a missing patch is flagged.
Alerts go to our UK Magento engineers, who block the source at your server's firewall, deal with the cause and tell you what happened in plain English. Sentinel is not in the request path, so it adds no delay to page loads. It does not replace Magento security patches.
Managed VPS plans include Sentinel Plus: bot protection, file integrity monitoring and enhanced firewall rules, at no extra cost. Dedicated and High Availability plans include Sentinel Pro, which adds active tuning during an attack and priority response. See how Sentinel protects Magento stores.
DDoS attacks are handled separately. Every server sits behind upstream, network-level DDoS mitigation, which absorbs volumetric floods in the network before they reach the server. On top of that, Sentinel spots floods from individual sources, rate limiting slows them, and our engineers block persistent sources at the server firewall.
Backups
Backups are held on your server, with frequency and retention set by the disk space available, and our engineers handle restores.
For a copy away from the server, Bastion off-site backup is an optional add-on: encrypted (AES-256) backup with five daily copies, held in UK and EU storage separate from your server, and priced by storage.
Free migration to your new VPS
Migration is included free, with no migration fee. We move your files, database, extensions, media, SSL and server configuration.
