Magento Managed Services: Managed and Fully Managed Plans
Magento managed services from EveryHost come in three levels, all for stores hosted with EveryHost. Standard support, 24/7 UK support by ticket through our support portal, is already included on every hosting plan. Managed, at £85 a month + VAT, adds store monitoring, a monthly health report, vulnerability checks and performance reviews. Fully Managed, at £169 a month + VAT, adds Magento security patching and off-site backup. See what each plan covers.
Standard, Managed and Fully Managed compared
The plans sit on top of your hosting, not instead of it. If you are still choosing a server, start with our managed Magento hosting or see plans and prices.

What each plan covers
This is the checklist we send to customers. Each item says what we do and how often.
Managed includes
- Priority support. Your tickets go into our priority queue, 24/7, through our support portal.
- Store monitoring. We watch your key pages and checkout, the Magento cron heartbeat, indexers and message queues, SSL and domain expiry, and disk growth, and an engineer investigates every alert.
- Monthly health report. Each month an engineer writes up your uptime, resource trends, backup status and version lifecycle dates, with recommendations.
- Monthly vulnerability check. Each month we check your Magento and Composer packages against published advisories, and send the findings to you or your developer.
- Performance review twice a year. We review the server side, apply server-side tuning, and pass any code findings to your developer.
- Up to 30 minutes of small server tasks a month, such as cron and PHP settings, SSH and SFTP users, and cache and index operations. Unused time does not roll over.
- PCI DSS scan help. We fix server-side findings from your ASV scans and help you deal with false positives.
- Upgrade alerts. The health report flags lifecycle dates for your Magento, PHP and database versions.
Fully Managed adds
Everything in Managed, plus:
- Magento security patches. We apply Adobe's security patches on staging first, then to production in an agreed window, with a rollback plan.
- Off-site backup. Bastion, our encrypted off-site backup, up to 50 GB, is included.
- Quarterly restore tests. Every quarter we restore a backup to staging to check it works.
- Quarterly performance review, in place of the twice-yearly one.
- Up to 60 minutes of small server tasks a month, with no rollover.
- Patch status and restore-test results in your monthly health report.
- Pre-peak readiness review once a year.
- A written upgrade plan and quote once a year. The upgrade itself is quoted.
- Priority server-side clean-up after a compromise: IP blocks, credential-rotation guidance and a restore from Bastion if needed. Code clean-up stays with your developer.
What isn't included, and how it's charged
None of the plans include changes to your code. These are quoted, or done by your developer or agency:
- Extension, theme or module updates, and any change to your code. Your developer does these, and we coordinate the deployment.
- Magento version upgrades, such as 2.4.8 to 2.4.9. Every upgrade is quoted, and timing depends on how complex your store is. See Magento upgrades and security patching.
- Magento 1 to Magento 2 migrations. We do these in-house as a separate quoted project, with theme and extension rebuilds scoped in the quote. See Magento 2 migration.
- Custom development, debugging custom modules, integrations such as ERP, PIM and payment, content, design and SEO.
- Load testing, which is part of Magento Surge Shield.
- Cloudflare, or any CDN or edge WAF. We recommend putting Cloudflare in front of your store if you want one, alongside Sentinel, but we do not provide or manage it.
- On Standard and Managed: applying Magento security patches, and Bastion off-site backup, which is available as a separately priced add-on or with Fully Managed.
- On Fully Managed: off-site storage above 50 GB, charged at the Bastion tier difference.
- Malware clean-up of application code after a compromise.
Work outside a plan is charged at £85 an hour + VAT. Larger jobs are quoted before any work starts.
How we apply Magento security patches (Fully Managed)
Adobe published six Adobe Commerce security bulletins in 2025, and six so far in 2026 including one out-of-band emergency fix on 7 September, checked on 11 October 2026. Most fall on the second Tuesday of a month. On Fully Managed, we apply each one the same way:
- We apply the patch to your staging copy first and check the store still works.
- We agree a window with you and apply it to production, with a rollback plan ready.
- If a patch conflicts with your custom code, we stop, report what we found, and hand it to your developer.
On Standard and Managed, your developer applies Magento patches on the staging copy and we coordinate production. On Managed, the monthly vulnerability check flags any patch that is missing. Every plan includes operating system and server stack security updates.
Magento monitoring: what we watch
Every plan includes server monitoring. Managed and Fully Managed add checks on the store itself, so a problem in Magento is found as well as a problem with the server.
| Check | Standard | Managed and Fully Managed |
|---|---|---|
| CPU, memory and disk | Yes | Yes |
| Web server, database, cache and search services | Yes | Yes |
| Key pages and checkout available | No | Yes |
| Magento cron heartbeat | No | Yes |
| Indexers and message queues | No | Yes |
| SSL certificate and domain expiry | No | Yes |
| Disk growth trend | No | Yes |
Our engineers investigate every alert, and the monthly health report sums up what we saw.
A Magento maintenance service, month by month
Most Magento management is routine work done on a schedule. This is what happens on each plan, and when:
| When | Standard | Managed | Fully Managed |
|---|---|---|---|
| All the time | Server monitoring, Sentinel, OS and server stack security updates, on-server backups | Plus store monitoring and the priority support queue | As Managed |
| When Adobe releases a patch | Your developer applies it on staging, and we coordinate production | As Standard | We apply it, staging first, then production |
| Every month | Health report, vulnerability check, up to 30 minutes of small server tasks | Health report with patch status and restore-test results, vulnerability check, up to 60 minutes of small server tasks | |
| Every quarter | Restore test to staging, performance review | ||
| Twice a year | Performance review | ||
| Once a year | Pre-peak readiness review, written upgrade plan and quote |
Off-site backup and restore tests (Fully Managed)
Every plan keeps backups on your server, and our engineers handle restores. Fully Managed adds an off-site copy: Bastion, our encrypted off-site backup, is included up to 50 GB. Each quarter we restore a backup to staging to check it works, and the result goes in your health report. Stores with more than 50 GB to back up pay the difference between Bastion tiers. On Standard and Managed, Bastion is available as a separately priced add-on.
How the prices compare
Management add-ons published by UK Magento hosts we checked on 11 October 2026 started at £80 a month per server, with a higher tier at £150, and standalone support plans and Magento retainers from UK agencies ran from £199 to £750 a month, with developer time at £95 to £100 an hour. That is a small vendor sample, not a market survey.
Our Managed plan is £85 a month + VAT and Fully Managed is £169 a month + VAT, on top of your hosting. Work outside a plan is £85 an hour + VAT.
Which plan is right for you
- Standard: your developer or agency handles everything Magento, and you want the server looked after. It is included with every hosting plan.
- Managed: you want our eyes on the store as well as the server, and your developer applies the patches.
- Fully Managed: you want us to patch Magento and keep a tested off-site copy of your store.
Whichever you choose, your Sentinel cover stays the same: Sentinel Plus on Managed VPS, and Sentinel Pro on dedicated and high availability. For what Standard support includes in detail, see Magento support and maintenance, and for everything else, our Magento hosting UK home page.
